On the software side, Foresight began previewing the subscription platform that will replace FSX 2020 and FSX Play, a change that reaches Bushnell Launch Pro owners as well as Foresight's own customers. And the Square Golf Omni, the year's most-delayed launch, finally sold out — without ever producing the independent owner data that would tell buyers whether it is any good.

Versant Completes $530 Million Full Swing Acquisition (August 3)
Versant Media Group (NASDAQ: VSNT) announced on August 3 that it had completed its acquisition of Full Swing, closing the roughly $530 million all-cash deal it agreed to on July 6. The purchase — from Bruin Capital and a group of minority investors — puts the PGA Tour's officially licensed simulator brand inside Versant's Digital Platforms and Ventures portfolio alongside Golf Channel, GolfNow and GolfPass, with Full Swing CEO Ryan Dotters reporting to divisional president Will McIntosh. Versant's quarterly 8-K filed August 6 confirms the completion. No product, pricing or licensing changes were announced alongside the close.
TruGolf to Acquire Blockchain Firm Polymath Research (August 18)
TruGolf Holdings (NASDAQ: TRUG) — the company behind E6 simulator software — announced on August 18 an agreement to acquire Polymath Research, the Canadian developer of the Polymesh blockchain, in a stock deal with a $140 million reference value. Polymath shareholders receive TruGolf Class A shares equal to roughly 19.9% of pre-close shares outstanding plus non-voting Series C convertible preferred stock, with $3.0 million raised from existing Series A holders at closing; the deal is expected to close in Q3 2026. For E6 owners the relevant line is chairman Brenner Adams's statement that "the golf simulation business continues to operate with full focus and continuity" — TruGolf is presenting the two as distinct businesses under one listed company rather than a move away from golf.

GOLFZON Announces CityGolf Nashville (August 6)
GOLFZON announced CityGolf Nashville on August 6 — a 174,000 sq ft venue near John C. Tune Airport in West Nashville that pairs simulator bays with real short-game and putting areas, so a full 18-hole indoor round can be played without leaving the building. It is targeted to open in late 2026, and GOLFZON describes it as the first location in a broader national expansion. The widely repeated figure of 10 to 15 US locations by 2030 has circulated in trade coverage rather than coming from GOLFZON, which has not publicly committed to a number or a timeline.

Foresight Sports began showing a preview of Foresight Sports Premier during August — a subscription platform intended to replace both FSX 2020 and FSX Play. What is known so far comes from preview coverage rather than a full launch: Premier will be tiered, existing perpetual FSX licence holders are slated to receive the lowest tier, and purchased courses and content carry over. Tier names and pricing have not been published, and Foresight has described what it showed as subject to change. This reaches further than Foresight's own hardware — Bushnell Launch Pro owners run FSX software too — so it is worth watching before committing to any long-term software purchase.

Full Swing Links Its App to Simulator Sessions (August 17)
Full Swing announced on August 17 an update connecting its app to simulator sessions: automatic driving-range analytics covering club dispersion, accuracy charts, club usage and shot history; automatic round tracking with scorecards, greens in regulation and putting stats; a digital bag that syncs between sessions; a new Skill Strike multiplayer mode; and the addition of Victory Ranch Golf Club, a Rees Jones design in Heber City, Utah. One caveat worth stating plainly: the announcement does not say whether any of this reaches the standalone KIT launch monitor, and the round-play features described are simulator-bay functions — so KIT owners should not assume they are included.

Rapsodo Updates the MLM2PRO App and Firmware (August 31)
Rapsodo released MLM2PRO app version 2.25.6 alongside firmware 4.1.19 on August 31. It is a reliability release rather than a feature drop: improved shot detection and accuracy specifically for drivers, fewer false triggers that caused shots to go unrecorded, a fix for an alignment issue that could shift the tracking area and lead to misreads, and better Bluetooth connection performance. ProTee Labs Improves Club Data and Drops GSPro OpenAPI Support (August)
ProTee published an August update to ProTee Labs — the software that drives the ProTee VX — with retrained AI models for club-data recognition and improved angle-of-attack, lie and spin readings. The change with the most practical impact is connectivity: Labs has migrated fully to ProTee's official GSPro connector and no longer supports the GSPro OpenAPI, alongside a fix for a bug that prevented GSPro auto-connecting. The same changelog entry adds support for receiving the selected club from GolfCore, though it carries no version number or specific release day. Note that ProTee Labs is the existing VX software and is not the same product as ProTee GolfCore, the Unreal Engine 5 simulator that remains unreleased.

Foresight's GCQuad Discount Shrinks Through August, Then Disappears
The 25% promotion that took the GCQuad to $11,999 ended with July, but the discounting did not stop dead. Our own price check on August 14 found the unit at $14,499 — still below the $15,999–$17,999 list range depending on bundle, but nowhere near July's level. By the start of September the discount had gone entirely: Foresight lists the GCQuad at list price, and the Bushnell PRO X3+ LINK rangefinder that came as a July sale bonus is now presented as a standard inclusion rather than a promotional extra. If you held off in July hoping the summer discount would deepen, it moved the other way.

SkyTrak Holds ST MAX at $1,695, Its Lowest Yet
SkyTrak's sale page lists the ST MAX at $1,695 against a $2,995 list price, with a year of free CORE: Foresight membership included, and the original SkyTrak at $695 against $1,995 ($495 certified pre-owned). That ST MAX figure is $300 below the $1,995 Deal Days price we recorded in June, making it the lowest we have seen the unit. We are reporting these as verified at the start of September rather than dating the sale to August: SkyTrak has run discounts of this size continuously since at least June and has labelled the same promotion under several different names, so treat it as an ongoing discount level rather than a limited-time event.

Rapsodo MLM2PRO Discounted to $599.99
Rapsodo lists the MLM2PRO at $599.99, $100 below its $699.99 regular price, shown as a struck-through sale rather than a new list price. This is not a new August cut — our own price check found the same $599.99 promotion running on August 14, so it has held for at least three weeks. No end date is stated anywhere, which in practice means it can disappear without notice, so verify the price at checkout rather than planning around it.

Square Golf Omni Sells Out, Restock Slips Toward Fall
The Square Golf Omni ($1,599) went out of stock during August and had not returned by the start of September — Square Golf's own store shows the unit as sold out, and PlayBetter is taking pre-orders against an "Early Fall 2026" ship window. Owners in the r/Golfsimulator community reported that direct orders placed in early August shipped within days before US stock ran out around August 10, with support promising a restock; that account is community-reported and we could not confirm it with Square Golf. What still has not appeared — as in June and July — is a body of independent owner accuracy data, which is what would actually settle how the Omni performs.
