SkyTrak+ Review

By The GolfSimulatorSource Team | Updated:

Quick Verdict

The SkyTrak+ at $1,995 (reduced from $2,995) is the strongest E6 Connect option under $3,000 — and the Bushnell Launch Pro doesn't support E6 at all. Hybrid camera+radar gives you ball AND club data without club stickers. The catch: no built-in display (needs iPad/PC), 6-month warranty (vs. BLP's 1 year), connectivity issues for some users, and it's being discontinued for the ST MAX. At $504 less than BLP with E6 support and global availability, it's hard to beat for the right buyer.

Who Should Buy the SkyTrak+

E6 Connect users. SkyTrak+ is effectively the only sub-$3K camera/hybrid option for E6. The Bushnell Launch Pro does not support E6 — this is a hard dealbreaker for a large buyer segment.

UK and Canada buyers. BLP is US-only. SkyTrak+ works everywhere. For international buyers wanting a camera/hybrid unit, this is the natural choice.

Golfers who switch clubs frequently. No club markers needed — radar handles club data without any stickers. BLP requires metal stickers on every clubhead.

Budget-conscious full simulator builders. At $1,995 with Essential + GSPro, the 5-year TCO of $3,895 is significantly lower than BLP Gold + GSPro ($6,244).

iPad-first users. SkyTrak+ integrates natively with iPad — E6 on iOS, WGT on iOS, SkyTrak app on iOS. No gaming PC needed.

MyGolfSpy ForumPositive overall
Reddit r/golfsimulatorsMixed — accuracy praised, connectivity frustration

Most Praised

  • E6 Connect support — the only camera/hybrid sub-$3K unit with it
  • No club markers required — radar reads club data with any club instantly
  • Outdoor performance significantly improved over original SkyTrak
  • 5GHz Wi-Fi + Direct Mode (creates device hotspot) — more flexible than BLP
  • Global availability — UK, Canada, international (BLP is US-only)
  • At $1,995, lowest 5-year TCO in camera/hybrid category for GSPro users ($3,895)

Most Criticized

  • No built-in display — requires iPad/PC for ANY shot data (BLP has built-in LCD)
  • Connectivity/reliability issues documented in long-term owner reviews
  • Smaller hitting zone (4.5"×4.5") vs. BLP (7"×10") — more position-sensitive
  • Only 6-month warranty / 25,000 shots (BLP offers 1 year)
  • Club data uses ML algorithms — less precise than dedicated quad-camera systems
  • GSPro via unofficial connector — ghost shots over Wi-Fi (USB-C fixes it)
  • Being discontinued — ST MAX ($2,995) is the replacement
  • Software conflict — must close SkyTrak app before launching E6/GSPro/TGC
"SkyTrak+ is the only decent option if you're committed to E6. At $1,995 it's a no-brainer over the BLP for E6 users."

"At $1,995 you get club data, E6 support, and no club stickers — it's a genuinely strong package."

"Connectivity is fundamentally unreliable compared to other smart devices. When it works, it's great. When it doesn't, you're spending 30 minutes troubleshooting."

Alternatives to Consider

Better accuracy, built-in display, 1-year warranty — but no E6, US-only, $499/yr subscription

Cheaper, E6 included, no subscription — but needs 16ft+ room depth

Much cheaper, measured spin, portable — but subscription required, driver issues

SkyTrak ST MAX

$2,995

Successor with 40% larger hitting zone, dual USB-C — but costs $1,000 more
